Neil W. Peterson, Chief Operating Officer of Merit Medical Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: $MMSI), sold 21,449 shares at $85.00 each in an open-market transaction on August 4, 2026, collecting $1,823,165. He filed the Form 4 the next day and retained 25,551 shares after the sale.
$MMSI shares had risen from the low $70s at the start of July to close at $85.82 on August 4; the stock hit $87.81 during early August. Three months earlier, in early May 2026, a cluster of Merit Medical executives bought shares at much lower prices. CEO Martha Goldberg Aronson purchased 2,000 shares at $60.44 on May 6, CFO Raul Parra Jr. acquired 1,500 shares at $61.01 the same day, Chief Commercial Officer Christian Adam Smith bought 1,626 shares at $61.00 on May 11, Chief Legal Officer Brian G. Lloyd added 2,000 shares at $62.63 on May 7, and Chief Human Resources Officer Michel J. Voigt bought 2,250 shares at $60.65 on May 5. All five were open-market purchases and together formed the most concentrated insider buying at the company during the period reviewed.
Peterson’s August sale was his second open-market disposition of $MMSI stock in 2026. On January 6, he sold 5,000 shares at $90.00 per share, taking in $450,000 and leaving him with 28,369 shares. His reported holdings later climbed to 47,000 shares before the August transaction, which cut his stake by roughly 46%. The January sale had reduced his holdings by approximately 15% at that time.
Other recent insider sales included a series of trades by Executive Chairman Fred P. Lampropoulos in November 2025. He sold 60,000 shares across four open-market transactions between November 18 and November 25 at prices ranging from $84.83 to $88.04, totaling about $5.2 million. That was the largest cluster of insider dispositions at Merit Medical in the reviewed period. Director Lynne N. Ward sold 5,000 shares at $62.61 in May 2026; she had previously sold 5,433 shares over two transactions in August 2025 at prices between $84.89 and $88.56.
Separately, Representative Lisa Mcclain, a Michigan Republican, disclosed two tiny $MMSI trades during 2025: a purchase in July and a sale in September, each with a midpoint value of roughly $1,001 based on the bracketed ranges STOCK Act filings require. Congressional dollar figures are midpoint estimates of disclosed ranges, and those trades were immaterial in size next to the corporate insider activity.
